SMILE - Sadhana'19

Here comes the much awaited Announcement for Sadhana'19

15ஆவது ஆண்டில் காலடி எடுத்து வைக்கும் SMILE தொண்டு நிறுவனத்தின் இந்த ஆண்டிற்கான Sadhana'19 அறிவிப்பு.

2004'ல் 20 நபர்கள் தலா 100 ரூபாய் கொடுத்து தொடங்கிய SMILE நண்பர்கள் கண்டிப்பாக அன்று நினைத்து பார்த்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள். அந்த சாதாரண நண்பர்களின் 100 ருபாய் இந்த 15 ஆண்டுகளில் 2 கோடியாக ஆகும் என்று. SMILE மூலமாக செய்த நலத்திட்டங்களில் மிகப்பெரியது என்றால் அது மாணவர்களை கல்லூரிக்கு சேர்த்து படிக்கவைக்கும் சாதனா தான். கிட்டத்தட்ட 1.3 கோடி இந்த திட்டத்திற்கு மட்டும் செலவு செய்துள்ளோம் என்பது நினைத்து பார்க்கவே மிகப்பெரிய மலைப்பை தருகிறது.

நம்மிடமே இம்முறை ஒரு போட்டித்தேர்வு பயிற்சி நிறுவனமும் இருப்பதால், இம்முறை 4 முறைகளில் மாணவர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுக்க இருக்கிறோம். எப்போதும் போல உங்கள் ஆதரவு வேண்டும்.

1. BE, MBBS - போன்ற 4 அல்லது 5 வருட படிப்பிற்கு எப்போதும் போல பேங்க் லோன் போக மீதம் இருக்கும் இதர செலவுகளுக்கென சராசரியாக ஒரு மாணவருக்கு ஆண்டிற்கு 25000 என நிற்னயித்துள்ளோம்.

2. கஜா புயல் தாக்க பட்ட மாவட்டங்களிலிருந்து குறைந்தது 10 மாணவர்களை படிக்க வைக்கலாம் என்று எண்ணம் உள்ளது

3. ஜவ்வாது மலை வாழ் மாணவர்களை SMILE சில ஆண்டுகளாக வே படிக்கச் வைத்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். அவர்களுக்கு என்ன சிக்கல் எனில், BA, BSc என சொல்ல கூடிய படிப்புகளை படிப்பதற்கு அவர்களுக்கு அரசு கட்டணம் என்று ஏதும் வாங்குவதில்லை. ஆனால் கலைக்கல்லூரிகளில் உள்ள சிக்கலே. தங்கும் இடம் மற்றும் உணவு தான். SC/ST ஹாஸ்டல்களின் நிலை பற்றி நங்கள் உங்களுக்கு விளக்க வேண்டியதில்லை. மேலும் அவற்றில் சேர்க்கை எண்ணிக்கையும் மிக குறைவு. கடந்த ஆண்டு ஒரு 5 மாணவர்களை சபர்மதியில் தங்கி கல்லூரிக்கு சென்று வருகிற மாதிரி ஒரு ஏற்பாடு செய்து முயற்சித்தோம். தங்க இடம், உணவு மற்றும் அல்லாது போட்டித்தேர்வு மாணவர்களின் தொடர்பு அவர்களையும் அதை நோக்கி நகர்த்துவது கண்கூடாக தெரிகிறது. TNPSC Group 4 எனப்படும் தேர்வுக்கு 10ஆம் வகுப்பு தான் தேவை என்பதால் அவர்களின் 2ஆம் ஆண்டிலேயே தேர்வெழுத தயாராகியுள்ளனர். இந்த ஆண்டு அந்த மலைப்பகுதியிலிருந்து மேலும் பல விண்ணப்பங்கள் வந்துள்ளன. மேலும் இந்த முயற்சியை SMILEல் BA, BSc படிக்கும் அனைத்து மாணவர்களுக்கும் விரிவு படுத்தினால் என்ன என்ற கேள்வியும் இருக்கிறது. கல்லூரி படிப்போடு போட்டித்தேர்வு (அரசு அல்லது தனியார்) தயாராவது என்பதோடு, சபர்மதியில் விவசாயமும், தற்சார்பு வாழ்க்கையும் கற்று கொள்வார்கள் அல்லவா.

SMILE - Sadhana'19

It's been 15 wonderful years and we, at SMILE, still remember the day 1 when it all started. It was in the year 2004, when a group of just 20 friends came forward with Rs 100/- each , every month and decided to use that towards the welfare of destitute children. No one would have believed that this meagre amount of Rs 2000 pm would grow up to 2 crore in 15 years. We were fortunate enough to have done a lot of good deeds through SMILE and out of all such things, project Sadhana gave us one of the most satisfying results. Sadhana is all about providing education to the needy children and almost 1.3 crores were spent for Sadhana alone. Also since we have our own coaching centre for competitive exams, Sabarmathi Gurukulam, we have decided to scrutinise the selection of students for Sadhana and divide it under 3 categories.

1. Dedicating around Rs 25000/- per student, who choose UG programs that need 4 or 5 years to complete the degree. This amount will be used by them for their studies and other useful accessories that help them move towards their goal.

2. Atleast 10 students from areas affected by the recent natural disaster, Gaja Cyclone.

3. SMILE has been supporting students from Jawadhu hills for quite sometime now. But in their case, the problem is not in paying fees for their education, as it is free, the main barricade is their stay and food. As many of arts colleges don't have hostel facilities, there are only Govt. SC/ST hostels outside of the college which are common to most of the colleges near by, but we sure know how they are maintained. For a student to concentrate on his/her studies, the basic needs has to be satisfied.
Last year, we made 5 such students stay at Sabarmathi and from there they commute to the nearby Govt college. Staying and socialising with students in Sabarmathi has also kindled in them the aim to prepare for competitive exams along with others. Since the minimum qualification for TNPSC group 4 is grade 10, they are planning to write the exam this year. We have got more similar requests from Jawadhu hills this year. We also have a plan to have all the Sadhana students get trained in this manner. This will help them prepare for the competitive exams right from their college days and also help them learn more about farming and sustainable living.
